Maternity - Antenatal Clinics
Last updated: Wednesday 25 September 2024General introduction
Antenatal care is the care you receive from health professionals during your pregnancy.
It's sometimes called pregnancy care or maternity care.
It is important to begin your antenatal care as soon as possible once you know you're pregnant. Information on how to access antenatal care is provided on this page.
Your first appointment with a midwife (also called the booking appointment) should take place before you are 10 weeks' pregnant as you will be offered some tests that should be carried out before 10 weeks. See the useful information section for more details.
