Widening participation

We work hard to ensure we have staff with the right skills, values and behaviours to deliver our services. You can find out more about WHH on the about us section of our website.

We promote equality, diversity and inclusion through widening participation opportunities to support the development of the current and future healthcare workforce.

We offer the following programmes:

Traineeships - a 10 week placement for two days each week working in a variety of departments.

Pre-employment - a six week placement for two days each week in a variety of departments.

Supported interns - working closely with Warrington Vale Royal College and Project Search, we accommodate up to 10 candidates each year who have special educational needs and disabilities. The programme involves three placements and lasts for 12 months.

Step into Health - a programme to support former members of the military/armed forces and their families to find employment in the NHS.

This video shows Jack one who was one of our supported during his placement with us.
