Access to free patient / visitor Wi-Fi



To access free NHS Wi-Fi patients / visitors need to search for available wireless networks on their device and then register for free Wi-Fi using either your email address, Facebook or LinkedIn account. We no longer offer an option to activate via SMS text or WhatsApp message.

We provide free Wi-Fi access for patients / visitors at:

  • Warrington Hospital
  • Halton Hospital Nightingale Building
  • Halton Hospital Captain Sir Tom Moore Building
  • Halton Health Hub at Runcorn Shopping City
  • Bath Street Health and Wellbeing Centre, Warrington (Breast Screening Clinic)
  • Living Well Hub, Warrington

If you have any questions please ask a member of staff in the ward / department.

How to access the free Wi-Fi

If you would like to access free patient Wi-Fi, please look for ‘NHS WiFi’ in the available wireless networks on your device.

1. Once connected, this screen will pop-up:

2a. If you use choose the email option, you will have five minutes to use the activation email that is sent to you. Failure to do so will result in your internet access ending. The email will look like this:

[Your email address] Activate Access [button to click on] Failure to do so within 5 minutes will result in termination of your network access. Thank you for your understanding. Please ignore this request if you have not requested network access.

Do not click on links in emails from unknown senders.

2b. If you select Facebook, you will then need to accept the terms, allow or decline the cookies, then login with your Facebook username / password. 

2c. If you select Linkedin, accept the terms, then login with your LinkedIn username / password.
