General introduction

Ward A2 is a 30-bed mixed-sex ward.

The ward has strong links with other areas within the Medical Care Clinical Business Unit, with a special interest in diabetes and endocrine medicine.

How to access this service

Ward A2 admits patients from the Emergency Department (A&E) and the Acute Medical Unit (A1) with a wide variety of medical conditions.

A treatment plan is initiated and patients are then ideally transferred to the most appropriate area of the hospital within 72 hours.
