Rheumatology
Last updated: Friday 22 August 2025General introduction
Rheumatology covers the treatment of medical disorders that affect the musculoskeletal system, particularly the joints and surrounding soft tissues.
Within our Rheumatology Department we care for adult patients with a wide range of inflammatory conditions, connective tissue diseases, and for patients with osteoporosis.
We offer extensive assessments and treatment plans, and provide support and guidance on how to help manage your condition, including pain management advice.
We treat conditions both therapeutically and with non-drug approaches, including physiotherapy. Most patients that we look after are seen in the Outpatient Clinic, or attend the Planned Investigation Unit for specific treatment.
