Nutrition and Dietetic Department

General introduction

The Nutrition and Dietetic Department is part of the therapy services within our hospitals.

We work as part of a multidisciplinary team to treat both adults and children within inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

We provide an evidence-based service to our patients to help treat a range of conditions with dietary therapy.

How to access this service

Patients in the community that meet our referral criteria can be referred by variety of healthcare professionals including GPs, district nurses and practice nurses. Patients can also be referred by nursing home staff.

Inpatients are screened for malnutrition and assessed against our referral criteria and an internal referral is made where required.

About the team

The department is staffed by a friendly and diverse group of dietitians, dietetic assistants and clerical staff who work across our hospital sites and in the community.
