Discharge Suite

General introduction

The Discharge Suite is a waiting area for patients who are medically well enough to leave hospital and are awaiting something to enable them to leave after an inpatient stay. This could include waiting for transport or their prescriptions to take out of hospital.

Patients will be cared for by our nursing team with support from hospital volunteers. The unit has tea and coffee facilities with televisions in each waiting area. The unit is fully air-conditioned. 

How to access this service

The service can only be accessed by patients who have been admitted to Warrington Hospital and are now medically well enough to leave hospital. Clinical teams can transfer the patients to the suite when appropriate.

The Discharge Suite is staffed by qualified nurses with support from hospital volunteers.
