Ward - Captain Sir Tom Moore


General introduction

The Captain Sir Tom Moore (CSTM) Building main inpatient ward is a 22-bed elective orthopaedic ward, incorporating a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU). It specialises in caring for patients undergoing hip and knee replacements, hand and foot procedures as well as sports injuries (sports medicine) and other bone and joint care.

How to access this service

The Waiting List Team receives referrals for surgery from GPs and consultants. Patients are then listed to have surgery on the ward.

The ward also receives referrals from the Trauma Team and from the Emergency Department / clinics.

The Captain Sir Tom Moore (CSTM) Building is located just across from the main Nightingale Building at Halton Hospital site.

The ward is based on the first floor of the CSTM Building.
