Living Well community website shortlisted at national digital healthcare awards
Published date: Wednesday 04 February 2026
The pioneering Living Well Warrington website, which is the latest development in the borough-wide Living Well programme, has been shortlisted at the HSJ Digital Awards 2026.
The website, which focuses on connecting residents with timely, relevant and inclusive support from across the NHS, local authority and voluntary sector, has been shortlisted in the Reducing Health Inequalities through Digital category and the Driving Prevention and Early Intervention through Digital category.
By acting as a central signposting resource with features such as interactive neighbourhood maps, personalised information and advice, and easy-to-navigate service listings, people across Warrington are empowered to take control of their own wellbeing.
Residents can find information on local organisations, events and activities, health and wellbeing advice, schools and education, support for carers, cost of living advice and more, helping them to get the right support, in the right place, at the right time.
For those who may not be as confident with digital technology, there are even dedicated sessions available to help build confidence and skills in using digital devices.
Nikhil Khashu, Chief Executive at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals and Bridgewater Community Healthcare, said: “I am delighted to see the Living Well Warrington website shortlisted for two prestigious digital awards. Across Warrington there is a wide range of services and support available to residents, and this innovative new platform brings it all together. The feedback from those using the platform has been very positive and I am proud to see the difference this is already making to reducing health inequalities and empowering people to navigate their health and wellbeing needs independently.”
Since the launch in March 2025, the website has been visited more than 160,000 times, with 4,500 users logging in to use the platform each month.
More than 700 listings are now easily searchable and accessible on the innovative platform, thanks to a community-led approach which saw the platform shaped by the needs of local people and groups.
Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member for health, wellbeing and social care, Cllr Maureen McLaughlin, said: “I am thrilled to see that Living Well Warrington continues to receive national recognition. It is proof that by working in partnership and focusing on the health and wellbeing needs and aspirations of local people, we can help to make a positive difference in their lives. I’m proud of the role the council has played in funding and helping to roll out this website – it is a valuable one-stop shop for both residents and partners across the health and wellbeing sectors.”
The awards shortlisting highlights the exceptional work and dedication undertaken to help improve access to health, wellbeing and community support across Warrington, where there is a 10-year difference in life expectancy between the most and least deprived members of the community.
The platform embraces technology and offers people a way to access and manage their healthcare in a way that is convenient and easily accessible, which lies at the heart of the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan for England.
The Living Well programme has grown significantly with a number of successful projects introduced to support the town’s health needs thanks to partnership working between Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Warrington Borough Council, Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and a range of public sector organisations and local voluntary sector partners.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 19 June, a night dedicated to celebrating incredible innovation and excellence in digital healthcare.
