Don’t miss your chance to nominate an NHS star for the People’s Choice Award
Published date: Wednesday 07 January 2026
Members of the public have just over one week to nominate a deserving NHS hero at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals and Bridgewater Community Healthcare for a special award.
The deadline for entries to the People’s Choice Award has now been extended to Friday 16 January – so don’t miss your chance to celebrate someone who has provided remarkable care at Warrington and Halton Hospitals or at one of Bridgewater’s community locations.
The prestigious award is your opportunity to nominate a person, team, ward or department that has made a positive difference to your healthcare experience over the past 12 months. The award will be presented at the first joint Thank You Awards ceremony on Friday 16 May at the Titanic Hotel, Liverpool.
The special award is the only category that is available for public nomination, and each entry will be gratefully received and considered by the judging panel.
If you know someone that has gone over and above to help you, a family member, or friend then don’t miss this opportunity to say thank you.
Last year’s finalists included Jonathan Cliffe, Midwifery Team Leader (Team River), who was commended for his commitment to providing the highest standard of care for families during their pregnancy journey, and Sue Jones, Specialist Nurse (Children’s Epilepsy Team), whose nomination praised her ‘calm and reassuring’ approach to supporting young patients and their families to manage their epilepsy.
The People’s Choice Award is one of 12 accolades that will be presented during the event, which recognises the achievements of hospital, community and charity heroes.
