COVID-19 National Day of Reflection 2025
Published date: Friday 07 March 2025
Sunday 9 March 2025 is the Day of Reflection across the UK for the COVID-19 pandemic.
The day is an opportunity to come together to remember those who lost their lives since the pandemic began and to honour the tireless work and acts of kindness shown during this unprecedented time. 2025 marks five years since the pandemic began and we continue to honour and remember those affected.
Chapels and prayer rooms will be open 24/7 at both hospitals for quiet reflection and/or prayer. Memory trees and memory boxes will be available for staff, patients and visitors to leave their own messages or prayers of remembrance, thanksgiving and hope. There will also be an opportunity to light a small LED candle in remembrance.
If further support is needed and you or someone you are caring for wishes to speak with a chaplain, the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team can be contacted via the hospital Switchboard or by email.
You can also watch a short, recorded service of reflection, delivered by the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team, to mark the day below.
