Halton Clinical Research Unit
Last updated: Friday 14 February 2025Halton Clinical Research Unit (HCRU) has been developed with our research alliance partners Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network, North West Coast and was officially opened on 4 March 2021.
It provides:
- A dedicated research on the Halton Hospital site in Runcorn.
- Flexible facilities and staff to support different types of clinical research and trials
- Greater opportunities for WHH staff to undertake research and trials in conjunction with the WHH Quality Academy Research and Development Team
- Greater opportunity for people in Halton and Cheshire to take part in research and trials which will improve the health of our local communities and feed into national research
Coming to HCRU
We are located in Halton Hospital Nightingale Building. There is chargeable parking on site.
Head to the Nightingale Building (either entrance) and follow the signs inside the hospital to Halton Clinical Research Unit (HCRU) on the ground floor.
Research and trial participants may have been provided with specific instructions on their appointment letter.
