Become a member
Last updated: Monday 12 May 2025We are committed to engaging with our patients, public and staff and using your views and ideas to help shape our services.
As a foundation trust one way we can do this is through encouraging local people and our staff to become members.
NHS foundation trusts were created to devolve decision making from central government to local organisations and communities.
Becoming a member is free and is open to anyone over the age of 12 who lives locally or who is or has been a registered patient with one of our services.
As a member you can:
- receive a quarterly electronic newsletter to keep up to date with news from the Trust and participate in surveys on various topics.
- participate in elections to our Council of Governors who represent the members by working with our leadership teams and the Trust Board - holding them to account on behalf of local people and patients.
- stand for election to the Council of Governors - if aged 16 or over.
- attend events including our Annual Members' Meeting where we present the Annual Report and Accounts and provide updates from our Executive Team and Council of Governors.
