NPPG: inaugrual meeting
Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust held the first inaugural meeting for the North West Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacist Group (NPPG) which was organised and chaired by Judith Martin, Lead Paediatric Pharmacist for Warrington Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Guest speakers for the event included Dr Satish Hulikere, Clinical Director for Women’s and Children’s Health and Caroline Manus, Clinical Scientist from Abbott Nutrition. Paediatric pharmacists from numerous hospitals were in attendance from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Manchester Children’s Hospital, Macclesfield Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Wigan Infirmary, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Countess of Chester and Wirral University Teaching Hospital.
Judith was really keen to develop a forum for sharing of information, ideas, education and training amongst paediatric pharmacists in the North West and improve the care of neonates, infants and children by advancing the personal development of paediatric pharmacists.
Due to the success of the event, the North West NPPG group will meet four times a year and will be hosted by Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
